Middle East College (MEC) has recently launched a new programme in Logistics Management in affiliation with NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands. The new programme has been introduced in line with Sultanate’s national priorities and the Logistics Strategy 2040, which aims to transform the country into a leading logistics hub by 2040.

Middle East College (MEC) has recently assigned new Board of Trustees (BoT) members from different countries around the world during a meeting held at the college led by Dr. Glenn Christo Kharkongor, Pro- Chancellor of the Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong, India, and the Chairperson of the BoT, to review the college’s goals, strategic plans, procedures and regulations.
The Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) organized its first community outreach initiative, entitled ‘Together we Read’, for the academic year 2017-2018 on 13th December 2017. A group of 50 General Foundation Programme (GFP) students accompanied by some CFS faculty visited Al Kathwer Elementary School in Al-Seeb. The main objective of the initiative is to share knowledge and to build a culture of reading among MEC students as well as members of the local community.
A team consisting of two undergraduate students from Middle East College (MEC) have been awarded by The Research Council of Oman (TRC) under the Faculty Mentored Undergraduate Research Award Programme of TRC (FURAP) during the Annual Research Forum 2017 on the 10th December 2017 for their winning project; entitled ‘Automatic daily activity management system for the elderly person’, under the category ‘Health and Social Services’.
