The event was held on Tuesday, 17thOctober, 2017. Nearly 500 MEC students were presented awards for their achievements on the international and national level, during 2016-2017. The event included many activities such as a presentation on ‘How students can accumulate points by participating in extracurricular activities’, a video show acknowledging international and national award winners, presentation of the Best Bachelor Project Awards, distribution of certificates to diamond and gold members, active club mentors, Student Advisory Council members, peer tutors, and the students on the Dean’s list. A group photo session was also organised to mark the event.
Abdel Haleem Gamal, a member of the Student Advisory Council and one of the students to win an award, said, “It was a great event where the success of students was celebrated and my being part of it means a lot to me. I believe that college life is not just about learning in a class room and from lecture notes, but also comprises the talents and skills we display and practice during our term here, and the knowledge we gain through cultural exchange opportunities. I hope that all students get a chance to achieve much more, in future also, in all the different areas associated with college life!”
MEC students have won many awards on the international and national level by competing in various areas like photography, sports, drama, drawing, film making and entrepreneurship. The college provides an enriching environment and an active platform for its students, guiding and supporting them in developing their skills and talents. The Student Hub at the MEC campus, built with a view to facilitate student-related activities and events, was recently inaugurated.
