Welcome to the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The department addresses the human resource requirements of the emerging and growing specialisation of Electronics and Telecommunications.
Supported by well-equipped multidisciplinary laboratories, the department offers high quality learning modules that encompass different areas such as Electronics, Telecommunications, Computers, Controls, , Embedded Systems, Integrated circuits, Signal and information processing, Wireless communication and systems, and Software development.
The programme has specific set of modules to be taken as departmental requirement, another set of modules that are specialisation centric and finally a set of modules as college requirements and electives. To promote self-study, research and inquiry, students are required to do Projects at specific points during the course of study in the programme.
To prepare specialists in the emerging field of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and to provide them with knowledge and skills to meet the challenges of the rapidly developing world.
The department works in tangent with SSC (Student Success Centre), to provide academic advising, tutoring for under-performing students and any other form of help to improve their educational and professional experience here at MEC.
The electronics and communication engineering department is a team of 16+ faculties and two lab technicians. The department’s dedicated team of faculties helps the students to meet the challenges of the programme, which is ever in demand. The department is well equipped with laboratories having latest tools and technologies in VLSI, DSP, Telephony, Microwave, Embedded system and Digital communication.
The department has set up an Electronic club (E-club) to cater the needs of the inquisitive minds of the students. The club aims at motivating students to take up projects according to their areas of interest, thus helping them to design and implement real time projects.

Department has plans to start new Bachelor programme in Electronics and Instrumentation and Masters programme in Electronics. There is a constant development in infrastructure, which provides latest technological tools, to cater the needs of ever growing demand by students.
The department is also in the process of setting up a Special Interest Groups to work on the latest technologies and research in the area of Electronics, Instrumentation and Telecommunication.
