Qualification Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Wireless Networks
Entry Requirements Candidates seeking direct admission to the programme mentioned should possess a General Education Diploma (Equivalent to 12 years of schooling or equivalent qualification) in the science stream, a minimum score of 65% in any two of the following modules/courses:
a) Pure Math
b) Physics
c) Chemistry
d) Biology
Further, candidates should pass the Placement Test conducted by MEC which includes English, Mathematics and Computing components. To be exempted from English Language in the Foundation Programme, candidates require a 5.5 score on IELTS (International English Language Testing System) or its equivalent and to be exempted from the Computing component of the GFP, they should have successfully completed the ICDL or IC3. In addition, candidates will have to pass the Math component of the college Placement Test.
Department Computing

With the rapid industrial development in Oman and computer wireless network solutions are becoming a necessity because of their features of portability, cost effectiveness and versatility. This programme prepares you to address the requirements of the present technology viz. wireless technology. It aims to provide you with the knowledge and skills for a thorough understanding of network technology and administration with a focus on the real-time wireless environment.
After completing the programme, you will find careers in installation, operations and maintenance wireless networks and services to address the specific needs of the world-wide communications industry. Further, the technical skills and in-depth knowledge that you acquire will help you find suitable entry-level positions in the wireless technology environment, in both government and private organisations looking for networking professionals to install, operate and maintain their wireless networks.
