Qualification Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering
Entry Requirements Candidates seeking direct admission to the programme mentioned should possess a General Education Diploma (Equivalent to 12 years of schooling or equivalent qualification) in the science stream with a score of at least 65% both in Pure Math and Physics.

Further, candidates should pass the Placement Test conducted by MEC which includes English, Mathematics and Computing components. To be exempted from English Language in the Foundation Programme, candidates require a 5.5 score on IELTS (International English Language Testing System) or its equivalent and to be exempted from the Computing component of the GFP, they should have successfully completed the ICDL or IC3. In addition, candidates will have to pass the Math component of the college Placement Test.
Department Mechanical Engineering

This programme aims to produce graduates with the ability to develop appropriate solutions to engineering problems, using new or existing technologies, through innovation, creativity and change. In particular the programme provides knowledge and skills relating to design and manufacture of mechanical systems, underpinned by a sound understanding of mathematics and science, and focused on the subject areas of mechanical engineering
Mechanical engineers can work in all kinds of industries finding jobs, for instance, in: Design – turning plans into new products or revising existing ones; Manufacture – planning, designing and implementing new production processes; Management – project management as well as in Research and development. In addition, they will also be suitable for maintenance work of mechanical systems in all kind of organizations, both public and private.
