Entry Requirements

Candidates seeking admission to the above mentioned programme for a Bachelors or Diploma Programme should possess the following:
• General Education Diploma (Equivalent to 12 years of schooling or equivalent qualification)
• General Foundation Programme (GFP) Certificate issued by MEC.

Further, candidates should pass the Placement Test conducted by MEC which includes English, Mathematics and Computing components. To be exempted from English Language in the Foundation Programme, candidates require a 5.5 score on IELTS (International English Language Testing System) or its equivalent and to be exempted from the Computing component of the GFP, they should have successfully completed the ICDL or IC3. In addition, candidates will have to pass the Math component of the college Placement Test.

Human Resources Management look at the people as one of the key inputs of any business organisation and also is an important element in all business areas. An Organisations’ workforce can be regarded as its biggest assets. Successful management of Human Resources in the high-tech business environment is not possible without knowledge and implication of Information Technologies and Systems. In order to prepare qualified and skilled professionals in the field of Human Resource Management the programme emphasises the analysis of different business processes, overall organisation operations and performance, the development and selection of appropriate computing solutions, project management and technological aspects of the field of Human Resource Management. The programme aims to prepare specialists with knowledge of Human Resources Management concepts and techniques and skilled to work with different Information Systems in this field.

This programme aims to prepare students to be successful Human Resources managers in the growing world of technology by providing skills and understanding across the core areas of business and information systems management. Graduates of the programme will be able to take their places in Business Management and Information Systems related positions in Business, Commerce and the Public sector and demonstrate a high level of competence. Additionally, graduates will be able to effectively understand and implement Human Resource related issues, recruitment, training, performance appraisal, employee relations, etc..

With the expanding job market in Oman, there is a growing requirement for qualified HR professionals. This programme equips you with the skills and knowledge required for taking up jobs in all types of government and private sector organisations in the roles of Personnel Relations Officers, HR executives and managers.
